Red Light Library: Reaped: When Death Comes

For a spooky October treat, the Red Light Library podcast is doing a bunch of special episodes. Today, Victoria and I delve into one of the most boring and badly written erotic stories I've ever read.

Reaped: When Death Comes, a story about a woman having sex with the Grim Reaper, has so much potential in its title and premise, which it not only completely fails to deliver on, but manages to wade into some offensive waters while it's at it.

On the bright side - bad stories mean good podcast episodes!  Listen to the episode here.

(18+ only!)

The Red Light Library

I've joined the Red Light Library podcast as a recurring co-host!

The Red Light Library is an erotica review podcast, giving short erotic stories available for sale their moment in the spotlight.  You can listen to my debut episode over here, where Head Librarian Gavin and I review a story about monster fucking, and I yell a lot about Amazon's strict content rules and how hymens don't work that way.

RLL is adults only!  Only go over and check it out if you're over 18.

Under the Hood at Audiocraft!

Back in June, Lee Davis-Thalbourne and I presented at Audiocraft, a podcast festival in Sydney.  We talked about how we make Love and Luck, get into the details, and offer a little advice to anyone who's thinking of getting into producing audio drama.

You can now listen to the entire presentation online via acast - check it out here!

Call Me By My Name Interview

Call Me By My Name is a Melbourne-based oral history project that centers the lived experiences of trans and gender diverse peoples, as authors and authorities of their own stories. I was interviewed for episode 8 of season one, and in it I open up about a lot of my experiences over my life. Check out the episode here.

Audiocraft 2018!

Sydney!  I'm coming to you!

My coproducer Lee and I will be presenting at Audiocraft 2018!  We'll be talking about how we make Love and Luck, and hopefully inspire a few more Aussies to dip their toes into audio drama!

It's going to be an amazing weekend, so if you can come along, you should!  Buy tickets here.

Queer Out Here!

Queer Out Here is a new audio zine, about queers and queerness and the great outdoors.  It's a beautiful and incredibly varied selection of pieces, from all kinds of queer people from all over the world, in all different types of the outdoors.

I have a short piece in Issue One - an excerpt that I read from my own little zine, Floodlight Viscera issue 12.  I have added sound to it to support the poetry in a new way, to bring it new dimension.

Queer Out Here is completely free for you to listen to - check out issue one now!

The Love and Luck Podcast

I have an exciting announcement to make, although I will admit that if you follow me on twitter, you're already intimately familiar with this particular project!

I am producing a podcast!  It is called Love and Luck, and it's a radio play queer love story with a touch of magic, told via voicemails.

Back in November 2016, I began writing a first draft of a script for a podcast.  I needed some stress relief, and more than that, I needed a power fantasy.  So I started writing a queer love story about some witch boyfriends, who use their magic powers to support and protect their queer community.

Many revisions, edits, plans, networking, and project to do lists later, I'm happy to say that we're well into production.  We had our first recording session on the 23rd of April at the Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre, and we've got quite a few more to go over the next few weeks.  If all goes well (and I've no reason to believe it won't, I was very generous with allowing time to fix last minute issues in my production timeline!) we will be launching in September 2017.

I am very excited about this little podcast, and I hope that you will listen to it when it comes out!  You can find out more about it by following it on social media - all the details of which can be found on its website, loveandluckpodcast.com.
